The following are available free of charge to patrons at the theater :

D-Scriptive is a revolutionary automated audio description system for the blind. During the performance, the blind or partially sighted audience member hears a detailed description of all the visual aspects of the production, including physical drama and humor, choreography, lighting, sets and costumes. It is available at every performance and is provided free of charge.

 

The theatre patron wears one tiny earphone, which is connected to a multi-channel receiver that picks up signals from the master system. Through it he or she can hear commentary throughout the show. Because it is timed precisely to the action of the show, and is integrated into the production’s cueing system, the commentary keeps pace with the action onstage. Even if there are greatly varying factors in the performance—missed lines, technical pauses or sudden ad-libs—the system does not miss a beat, and will always find its exact spot in the show.

I-Caption is an innovative hand-held captioning system for theatergoers who are deaf or have significant hearing loss. It is available at every performance and is provided free of charge.

 

This automated system displays verbatim text of the entire show, including lyrics, announcements and show information. It is timed perfectly to the show’s cueing system, and adjusts according to any fluctuations in the performance.

 

The captioning device, which is approximately the size of a small PDA, has an incredibly sharp screen that is visible only to the user, so as to avoid any distraction to neighbors. Even though the text keeps pace with the show, the user can scroll backwards at any time to review previously displayed material.
